Outreach Programs
Getting out and about in the community is the only way to meet those who are seeking education and counselling.
Cancer and HIV/Aids are still regarded as taboo in many regions of Africa, and our focus is on bringing an understandof the causes, treatment options and outcomes to improve the lives of those inflicted.
Our Programs
Our outreach programs consist of a number of key components, and are undertaken in various regions of Uganda. Programs typically run for 1-4 weeks, depending on the population of the region.
February-March 2019 - Mpigi and Wakiso
We work closely with other allied health service providers to provide the best care to cancer patients and wellness programs, especially for those entering palliative care.
Education & Awareness
Teaching students, young adults and the disadvantaged about cancer and HIV/Aids, the causes and possible preventative measures.
Care & Screening Programs
District-based free cancer screening and post-diagnosis care programs, providing support to sufferers and their families.
Counselling & Care Services
Support programs, financial support and healthcare services for sufferers who are not able to afford traditional hospital-based services.
Preventative Measures
Education and provision of immunizations and treatments for students and young adults.
What is our fundraising used for?
Every single dollar helps, and we try to use our funds as efficiently as possible.
Our outreach programs include a wide range of education and treatment plans, as well as screening and immunization.
$5 can provide cancer and HIV/AIDS educational materials to one student in high school
$10 can provide HPV vaccination for one child
$25 can provide screening of breast and cervical cancer for one woman/lady
$30 can provide testing prostate cancer in one man
$50 can provide a bed for a cancer patient in hospital
$50 can provide medication for HIV/AIDS for a sick student in high school per month
$100 can facilitate a cancer patient to start medication and treatment
